Nice ultralight blank, but they didn’t install enough guides to prevent the line from dragging along the side of the blank when the rod is bent too far while fighting a strong fish. They need to add 8 more guides in between the ones already there to prevent this.Edit (2/5/2022): I went and ordered extra guides to install on this rod and the difference is night and day. I started by adding a new stripper guide closer to the reel, and a guide in between every guide already on the rod. There’s a total of 17 guides now (including the tip) and there’s no more line rubbing the rod blank when the rod is really bent. I’m also thinking of hot-gluing the 2 sections of rod together as the top section twists around in the receiver of the bottom section when it’s being pulled to one side. Just paired this rod up with a SeaKnight Red Fox 7.2:1 with a BFS spool from a SeaKnight Red Fox 8.1:1 (see my preliminary review there on their page). Looking forward to finally using this combo for some yellow perch and panfish when the lakes thaw out (ice is too thin for ice-fishing here).

It took forever to get from China. Not a fan of description to what it is. Its ok but won’t buy again.

A little delay in shipment, but it was worth the wait. The rod is a very good value for the price I paid for it. I am pleasantly surprised. I put a reel on it with 4lb test and a 1/16 oz lure for a test run in my back yard. Wow does it cast great. The action and feel is good. I matched with a CADENCE CB8 casting reel which isn’t really BFS, but it is casting light lures on this rod nicely. I simulated fish hookups with material in the yard and jerked the rod around with no issues. I think people who had issues must be abusing it more than what a UL rod is designed for. I am excited to try it on actual fish and will update.PROS: Light, sensitive, flexible, decent craftsmanship, and overall the rod should cost lot more than what I paid.CONS: The back end of reel seat was a little tight at first and required me to push the reel foot into the slot. (it did fit though).I am ordering another one right away.

ok well got it mated with a reel, real nice slingshot action for spiting 1/32 oz. jig heads with 1-1/2″ tube skirts lined 4 lb. mono. at least 20 yards, super sensitive ultra light action, rod is super fast…. I could feel what seemed to be every little contour on the bottom as I slowly cranked in dragging bottom all the holes pits drops…nice right… then there was no mistaken the difference from nibbles and bites…. such light resistance every bump resulted in landing a slab….the combination of the whole set up I was even able to land a 5lb. blue cat that hit my jig…. only draw back but an easy fix, is the rod pieces tend to come apart after so many cast..
